Raphael Sanzio Baronci Altarpiece

Raphael was a famous Italian painter. He was born the 23rd of June 1483 Urbino, Italy. He died April the 6th 1520. His full name is Raffaello Sanzio. He painted a well known painting called Baronci Altarpiece. On the 10th of December 1500 Raphael was in his workshop painting his painting. On the 13th of September 1501 Raphael finished his painting of Baronci Altarpiece. I like how its realistic and her skin is slightly dotty. Raphael has painted over 500 paintings of people in the past. If you go to Florence, Italy you might see some of  his paintings at the Ufizzi Gallery. If you want to know more about Raphael search up Raphael Sanzio and you should find some facts and some information about him and his art.

Vincent Van Gogh.

Vincent Van Gogh was a post-impressionist painter of Dutch origin whose work -notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty , and bold colour-had a far-reaching influence on 20th-century art.

He born March 30 1853 and died at July 29 1890.

I like this picture because its looks so real and its colourful.

With the other Van Gogh picture’s I really like the painting called “The starry night.”.

Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso is a famous artist. He was born in 1881 and died in 1973. He painted lots of pictures, like El Bobo which was painted in 1959 in Spain.

Pablo Picasso. El Bobo.
Picasso started a new technique, cubism. Cubism is when you paint different parts of an object separately and puts them back together. For example Marie Therese Walter was painted using cubism (shown below).
Marie-Therese Walter
My favourite painting by Picasso is El Bobo (shown at top) because he looks hilarious and weird and Pablo did use cubism in it.Pablo’s mum says Picasso’s first words were “piz, piz”, which is short for lapiz and Spanish for ‘pencil’. If you want to see more Pablo paintings, google Self portrait, Old guitarist, Three musicians, Still life with guitar, Mary Therese Walter, and The doves. You might think his paintings are weird and ugly. Well, they are close to the most expensive things in the world! If you want to make your own Picasso-based painting visit www.picassohead.com

The Pioneer Federick McCubbin

I like the way Federick painted this picture, because it is divided into 3 parts and turns out to be a no word story. His paintings are messy first but then turn out to be kind of realistic like the grass turned out to be very realistic.. This art piece is also well known. This picture is set on the countryside.

Bertram MacKennal Circe Sculpture

Born 12 June 1863 and died 10 October 1931

He was a famous Australian sculptor and artist. He was most famous for designing coins and stamps.

The art piece Circe was carved using bronze which is a metal. Circe was a Greek goddess of magic. Circe turned her enemies into animals. She was the daughter of Helios, God of the sun.

I like this piece because Circe was able to do lots of magic and I like the arms that reach out.

Claude Monet

This is the same scene painted a few times to

The artist I have chosen is Claude Monet. Claude Monet was a French artist who was born in 1840 in Paris, and he died on the 5th of December 1926 in Giverny (France). He was an impressionist artist and he was inspired by nature, Monet was famous for painting the same scene many times in order to capture the changing of light and the changing of season. There is a garden in France called Monet’s Garden which he helped to design, you can still visit the gardens today. The painting I have chosen is the Japanese Bridge which he has painted many times.

Sidney Nolan – The trail

http://www.rugusavay.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Sidney_Nolan-the_trial.jpg

Sidney Nolan, one of the most famous Australian artists, uses a modern square technique. He used different materials for making his art like paper and canvas.

This painting shows the courthouse where Ned Kelly was sentenced to death by Judge Barry.

Ned Kelly tells the Judge that soon when he dies he will meet with the Judge.

Sadly two weeks later the Judge died.

The courthouse is in St Kilda. You can see the port through the window. The red and white floor was in a house where Sidney Nolan was once.

I like this painting because, it shows a very special moment of Australian’s history.
